Gentle dental care is not only possible, but at our office, it’s part of our mission!
Dental materials and techniques have improved over the years, but more importantly, every member of our dental team is committed to providing gentle dental care, to every patient.
Because ours are some of the few dental offices in the Mesa / Phoenix area to offer all three types of sedation for dentistry, we see a lot of patients who are afraid of the dentist.
Typically, that dental fear stems from a previous dental visit that was painful and/or traumatic. And one of the best ways to move past dental anxiety and fear is to have a positive, painless dental experience.
Sedation can help ensure a positive experience, for adults and children!
Laughing gas is the most mild form of sedation that we offer, and for many patients, it’s enough. Laughing gas can help relax you, even make you feel giddy. We offer laughing gas for cleanings, as well as other types of dental treatments and procedures. Often, we combine it with Novocain, which is a numbing agent.
We can provide laughing gas for people of all ages, including children.
Oral sedation, which is also known as conscious sedation, is the next level up. With oral sedation, you take a pill before your dental appointment. Time will seem to pass quickly, and after your appointment, you’ll have little or no memory of what transpired.
We can provide oral sedation for adults and children (who are age twelve or older).
IV sedation, which is also known as general anesthesia, is the deepest form of sedation. We administer IV sedation through an IV that’s attached to your arm. With IV sedation, you’ll be “knocked out,” completely unaware of anything that’s going on.
We only provide IV sedation for adults, not children.
In addition to providing gentle dental care and IV sedation, we also pride ourselves on good communication. We want to hear about your concerns and your past dental experiences. And we want to explain what we’re doing, give you options, and pace the treatment to your needs.
